What to expect when working with a designer
In my opinion, managing expectations is one of the most important parts of my job as a designer. I this mini-blog, I wanted to give some insight to a few things that our clients can expect when working with us.
Inspiration + Overall Direction: As the client, you are hiring us as the expert to give you a high quality, custom product whether that be a new home, new furnishings or both. While our process is fairly collaborative, our best design outcomes are born when our clients come with an open mind and are willing to trust our guidance due to our experience and expertise.
Communication + Organization: Part of our job is to manage the many decisions + moving parts that are required to build the home of your dreams. We will do everything in our power throughout the process to clearly communicate our vision, the cost and implications of anything you are approving, and what to expect as far as timeline goes. We also communicate directly with your builder to make sure everything is executed as planned.
Personal Satisfaction + Happiness: Our end goal is to make sure you have an exceptional experience during the time that you are on our client calendar, as well as after move-in and project completion. I love when I hear from a client that they still love all of the design decisions that we made, and that the home is living well for them, months and years after we’ve completed the job. As an interior designer, client experience is my highest priority and this includes the design process timeline and beyond.
